Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After your early morning breakfast at your hotel, our company representative will warmly meet you and immediately set off to Lake Mburo National Park which is conveniently located close to the western high way that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. The park is remarkably different from other parks, it’s the best park to view the gigantic eland, impala, zebras and acacia associated birds. Common mammal species including warthogs buffaloes, Oribi Defassa, water bucks, reed bucks and eland antelopes. Leopards and Hyenas are also present and lions have also returned to the park after years of poaching and near extinction. Arrive by lunch time at Mihingo lodge and later proceed for an afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo, an excellent place for birding, you will be able to spot hippos, crocodiles and others. Return to the lodge for relaxation as you prepare for the next day where you will head to the land of the ultimate gorilla experience. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Game drive – Transfer to Bwindi National Park
After an early morning breakfast, go for an early morning game drive where you will be offered a chance to see a variety of wildlife like zebras, Elands, buffaloes, and a lot more within the park. Though Lake Mburo National park is just 371sq km in size, it has a varied landscape full of interest and color, the park is refreshing and full of life, enjoy the experience then later on after your game drive proceed to Bwindi impenetrable National Park a home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas in the whole of Africa. Day 3: Gorilla trekking
After your early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and drinking water for briefing about the dos and don’ts of the mountain gorillas before the trek. The guide will lead into the forest to search for the gorillas which range from 2-7 hours depending on their movement in search of food and shelter. When you meet the gorillas you are strictly given 1 hour around them of which you can use this 1 hour by taking of photos and videos, watch them networking with one another, playing with each other, and witness the real behaviors of these gentle giants. It is such an experience not worth forgetting. Return to the lodge for late lunch and relation. In the evening go for Batwa community experience and have a chance to see the lifestyle of the local people, and also enjoy entertainment still by these local people. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: After your early morning breakfast, check out and get ready to start off the journey back to Kampala, along the way you will have a stopper over in Mbarara for lunch and at the Equator where you can even be able to visit the craft shops and buy something if you want, proceed with the journey to catch up your flight an Entebbe Airport in time.
