Tour overview
This safari involves tracking the mountain gorillas in Uganda in Bwindi impenetrable National park, in volcanoes National park of Rwanda and also DRC’s virunga National park. We also have a day for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National park that is home to 11 other primate species. You also track the golden monkeys in Rwanda’s volcanoes National park. You will also need to arrive at Entebbe international Airport and then depart from Kigali international Airport.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
The company guide will also pick you from the airport or at your hotel and you will begin your drive to Kibale National park. This journey will also take 4 to 6 hours and you will then enjoy the scenic views along the way to the park. You will have lunch in Mubende and then arrive at the park late afternoon. You check in at the lodge and then enjoy a community walk or visit the crater lakes region for the beautiful views.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in the park
You will wake up so early and then breakfast, the guide will transfer you to Kanyanchu for a briefing and then register before you continue with the tracking. This adventure in the tropical forest is so over whelming and also good one of all the Uganda tours. Once you meet them, you will also be given time to spend with the primates and then return to your lodge for a late lunch. Later in the afternoon, the birders may also go for birding in either sebitoli Forest Centre and also enjoy the Bigodi wetland sanctuary.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park
You will depart so early in the morning and proceed to bwindi impenetrable National park. You will also drive through the Ishasha sector with hopes of seeing the tree climbing lions, elephants, buffalos, antelopes and many more. The other alternative is to pay the park’s entrance fees of $40 to enjoy a full game drive. Arrive at the park in late afternoon.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable National park
After a heavy early breakfast but with packed lunch, you will transfer to the park headquarters in the respective region where your gorilla permit is located for a briefing before embarking on your gorilla trek at 8:30 am. Park guides will after take you through the thick buttress root tree forest plus undergrowth- tracking the gorillas. This 2 – 8 hour Gorilla trek requires a reasonable degree of fitness a pair of jungle shoes. Once tract, interaction with the gorillas as you listen to them grumble as well as taking photographs with them takes only 1hour. It’s important to note that there are only about 880 of these beautiful apes left in the world most of them over 400 are fortunately found in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation or have an optional community walk.

Day 5: Transfer to Rwanda
You will wake up by 6:30 am for breakfast and then check out of the park and drive to Rwanda via the Gatuna border and then continue to Volcanoes National park. You will also in at the lodge in Rwanda

Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes
Have breakfast as early as 6:30am and with your packed lunch and transfer to the park offices. You can join up with other trekkers for the briefing by your ranger guide. In a group of 8 trekkers, the guide, an armed ranger and the porters you with proceed to the park to track the assigned group. The time taken to tracking these giants also varies from a few minutes to many hours. When you find your gorilla group, a maximum of one hour is allowed to observe and also photography the gorillas.

Day 7: Golden Monkeys tracking & transfer to Goma (DRC)
Enjoy an early morning transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey tracking. You will surely enjoy these playful primates as they care for their young ones. In the afternoon, you will drive to the border or Rwanda and DRC and enter the country via Goma town and check in at the Lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National park & drive back to Kigali for departure flight
Breakfast in the morning and then start your gorilla adventure in Virunga National park. After completing the park formalities, we shall start on a once life time adventure of tracking the gorillas. These primates are also rare, with less than 700 living today. You will also get within the metres and get privileged to spend only one hour with them. After the trek, get back and cross back to Rwanda and then drive to Kigali Airport for your flight back home.
