Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international Airport
The company representative will meet you at the airport and will brief you about the safari, drive towards the east through the plains, the leafed woodland, the acacia woodland and the rolling grassland. There are also lots of lakes that are linked by swamps that form a pointless wetland.
Dinner and overnight at Ruzizi Game Lodge/ Akagera Game lodge
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
You will start this day with a morning breakfast and later join the ranger in an open vehicle for your tour into the Akagera National park. Enjoy a half day game drive which offers you an opportunity of spotting many animals like gazelles, baboons, impalas, zebras, leopards, and the bush bucks. After you also return to the lodge for your lunch. After this, you proceed for the boat cruise along Lake Ihema were you will also be able to see the hippos, birds and the crocodiles. There are also some bird species including; the shoebill stork, papyrus Ganolex that can be seen. The other endemics also include; the Ibis, sand pipers, Jacana, and the herons. After return to your lodge for dinner and a chance to discuss this day sightings.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National park
On this day, you will also start a morning game drive after enjoying breakfast and after return to Kigali as you try to connect to Volcanoes National park in the north for an experience with the mountain gorillas. You will check into the lodge and then have lunch. Enjoy a walk through the forest to the nearby crater lakes for the great scenic views, photography as well as bird watching.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes.
Have breakfast and then take a short drive to the park headquarters and meet with the beautiful local guides and the trackers who will give you a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking tours. We shall then hike into the forest to where the gorillas were seen the night before and track from that point. The trek can take from 1 to 6 hours and the climb to the altitudes not in excess of 7,500 feet. We shall also hike into the forest to be these gorillas were seen the night before and track from that. Have breakfast and then enjoy half day hike to Bisoke which is also topped with the beautiful Crater Lake, Take some photos and then connect to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
