DAY1: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you leave Kampala and head to Lake Bunyonyi which is found in Kabale region. This Lake is the second deepest lake in Uganda. It is a very good spot for birders, the word Bunyonyi means small birds. You will Have a stopover at the Equator giving you a chance to take photos and also visit the craft shops around the Equator, you will also stand a chance to see the area which separates both the southern and the Northern hemisphere. Have another stopover in Mbarara for lunch and later proceed to Lake Bunyonyi as you view the beautiful scenery along the way. Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia cottages/Bird Nest Resort overlooking the shores of Lake Bunyonyi.
DAY 2: Canoe ride and transfer to Bwindi National Park
Early morning breakfast will be followed by a nature walk in the morning and in the after lunch you will go for a canoe ride to the one of the neighboring islands to search for different bird species on the Lake as you are given a chance to take photos and ask the guide about some of those species you would love to know. Later return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park which is one of the world’s Heritage sites and famously known as a home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas, whose encounter and consequent eye contact is the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter in the whole of Africa. Reach in Bwindi at your accommodation place in Mahogany spring lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: Mountain gorilla trekking
After your early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch and drinking water, you will head to the park headquarters to be briefed about the dos and don’ts of the mountain gorillas before heading to the forest. Time taken searching for these gentle giants is 2-7 hours depending on the movement in their natural habitat. Use the 1 hour given to you to observe their behavior as you take photos if you are interested. Return to the lodge for late lunch and in the evening you may have an evening walk to the Batwa community or take a walk to Munyanja river trail. This will be a very exciting experience. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 4: Return to Kampala
After your early morning breakfast, you will head back to Kampala have en route lunch in Mbarara and head to Entebbe Airport to catch up your flight. End of Safari.
