5 DAYS BWINDI GORILLAS AND WHITE WATER RAFTING
Day 1: Entebbe – Jinja
Our company driver will pick you from the Airport and transfer to Jinja. Along the way, the drive will offer you a chance to have a stopover at the Ssezibwa falls the cultural site well known for its spectacular falls which is believed by the local people to have been born by human beings. You will also have a chance to see and visit Mabiira forest which is the largest remaining tropical rain forest in central Uganda and proceed to Jinja. After lunch you will go for a short tour within Jinja, explore the source of the Nile and take photos, explore the Entanda falls and any other place of your interest if time allows. Dinner and overnight stay at Bilkon hotel.
Day 2: White water rafting experience
After breakfast, go enjoy a full day most thrilling white water experience which begins at the source of the Nile with a comprehensive briefing and the fitting life jackets and helmets. The rafting is done on an 18 kilometer stretch of the Nile River. The rapids go about 10km down river of the source of the Nile which has which has turned it to be the best spots for water rafting and kayaking. Jinja is a very good place for adventure to satisfy any adventurous visitor. Later after lunch depart from Jinja back to Kampala in hotel triangle and relax warming up for a long journey to Bwindi the next day. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi a land for mountain gorillas
After your early morning breakfast, check out and meet the driver to start off the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which lies on the edge of the rift valley in south western Uganda. You will have a stopover at the Equator for photos and also visit the craft shops around and proceed with the journey up to Mbarara where you will have your lunch and also visit the Igongo cultural center .Continue with journey to Bwindi forest the oldest and most biologically diverse rain forest, with over 400 species of plants. Bwindi is famously known for mountain gorillas where gorilla trekking is the main activity carried out within the park more than any other activity. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking
After your early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters with packed lunch and drinking water for briefing about the dos and don’ts of the mountain gorillas before your released into the forest, this rainforest has a very cool and fresh temperature which makes your search for gorillas worth the time. Time taken searching for these gentle giants ranges from 2-8hours depending on their movements within their natural habitat. Hiking within this mysterious and wonderful forest offers you a chance to see a lot of other species as you make your way to the mountain gorillas. The other wildlife within the forest includes; butterflies, mammals, geckos, chameleons and birds. The forest is also a very good spot for birders. Watch the gorillas from a distance not so close to them, watch them play with one another, mother gorillas nurse their young ones, communication with each other and a lot more they do for you to observe. Return to the lodge for late lunch and later in the evening if you are not tired; go for an evening walk to the Batwa community for cultural experience. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5: Departure
After your early morning breakfast, check out and meet the driver to start off the journey back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and later proceed to Kampala and head to the Airport for your flight back home.
